Ruido, new single by An Danzza

Ruido, the new single by An Danzza, is now available on digital platforms and on YouTube as a music video. It’s very different from what this veteran folk project has released so far. Ruido is a raw, fast-paced track with a clear message: indifference in the face of barbarity is what will end us. In it, hurdy-gurdies, bagpipes, guitars and whistles intertwine with synthesizers and electronic elements, resulting in a dizzying, powerful song, far removed from the melodic beauty that usually characterizes the compositions of this Madrid-based band.

The single comes with a music video set in a post-apocalyptic Madrid, where we see the Cibeles Fountain abandoned and overgrown with vegetation, the Four Towers half-collapsed, and El Retiro Park turned into an echo of what it once was. Shot in the mysterious ghost town of El Alamín (Madrid), the images of destruction suggest that wild nature would reclaim what humans once took from it.

Both the music video and the single are fully independent productions, something that has defined An Danzza since their beginnings over 20 years ago and gives them complete control and creative freedom over their music.

Less than a year ago, An Danzza released their latest album, Encantadas, also available on digital platforms. It’s a medieval-folk record that they are taking to stages in Spain and abroad in trio format (violin, guitar/bouzouki, voice/percussion) and as a trio with dancer.
